ABOUT WINE COUNTRY LAVENDER

Wine Country Lavender started on the back of Marty's search for better smelling healthcare products in his physiotherapy and chiropractic clinics, and Karen's love of gardening and aromatherapy.

Tired of going home smelling like a gym locker room, Marty begged Karen to start making specific healthcare balms and creams, with a fragrance that everyone would love, yet also relaxed his patients. Lavender fit this description perfectly! At the time, making candles and soaps were Karen's hobbies, away from her full-time role in tertiary education. Combining both their interests and knowledge, Karen and Marty researched ways they could create the ideal products for Marty's clinic.

The products were an immediate hit, selling out on a regular basis.

So with 21 pristine acres of Hunter Valley countryside it was obvious what needed to be planted, bringing to life and celebrating their Mediterranean and Australian roots.

Now Karen and Marty brag about being the best-smelling farmers in the region!

WINE COUNTRY LAVENDER'S MISSION

Karen and Marty's mission with Wine Country Lavender is to NOT be a traditional lavender farm.

As one of Australia's youngest lavender farming pairs, their sense of humour and quirkiness comes through immediately in their wide range of lavender products, from their "friendly abrasions" body scrub, to their "smoochable" lip balm, right through to their "froth top" foaming bath salts, they are bringing lavender into the 21st century.

In addition to tucking their lavender in at night, they care for their lavender in the most natural and eco-friendly way possible, with a high focus on sustainability as well as regenerative and ethical farming practices, while sharing this with the wider community.

Karen and Marty see farming as more fun than hard work, even though hard work plays a big role in farming!

They strive to distil the highest quality essential oil and other yields from their lavender, helping them to create the best lavender-based products possible.

Throughout this whole process, another high priority for them is maintaining the beauty and feel that is present at their 21-acre Hunter Valley property for farm guests at their BnB. Karen and Marty are passionate about agritourism and believe sharing what they have at Wine Country Lavender is complimentary to their mission.
