Sticky Scents - A year on the Lavender Farm, captured in scent

There’s a rhythm to life on a lavender farm. Each season brings its own mood, colour, and scent — moments that shape how the farm feels and how people experience it. Sticky Scents: The Four Seasons Collection Reed Diffusers were inspired by those moments and our wish to let them linger a little longer.

From harvest mornings and long summer days among the rows of bloom, to cool and sleep winter strolls, our farm offers a sensory story through the seasons. Each fragrance in the collection reflects the scents and experiences we notice as the seasons unfold at Wine Country Lavender in the Hunter Valley — and a subtle thread of lavender runs quietly through every blend, familiar, calming, and always at home here.

While lavender is the primary scent our guests notice, both when welcomed by blooming lavender fields in early summer, or enjoying a winter morning in our drying shed, this is accompanied by other scents of the beautiful nature we are surrounded by and other traditions we embrace.

Autumn Comfort – Cinnamon, Orange & Lavender

Autumn is our season of slowing down. As the lavender fields begin to settle, we spend our days distilling essential oil and planning the next year’s harvest, while enjoying crisp afternoons. Personally, I start enjoying a warm chai tea of an evening, and I love the brown and orange colours some of our trees turn into. Autumn Comfort captures this warmth — bright, sun-ripened orange lifts the spirit, soft cinnamon adds hearth-side comfort, and a gentle hint of lavender keeps the mood grounded. It’s autumn in a scent: cosy, reflective, and quietly joyful.

Winter Warmth – Wattle & Lavender

Winter is the quiet, restorative season. The fields rest after pruning, as we continue working on our soil and mulching as required. Crisp air carries subtle hints of wattle, and the golden blooms add a gentle brightness to the landscape. I can't help but bring a bunch of bright yellow wattle indoors once in full bloom each year - literally a pop of brightness to help with any winter blues! Winter Wattle brings that warmth indoors: honeyed wattle notes and a soft touch of lavender evoke calm, clarity, and the quiet satisfaction of winter work as we create our beautiful lavender products using our freshly distilled essential oil. Even in dormancy, the farm is alive — and so is this fragrance.

Spring Renewal – Cypress, Jasmine & Lavender

Spring is full of energy and new beginnings. Little lavender buds start popping up and everything wakes from winter. Birds chirp a bit more, bees start buzzing and blossoms bloom - the air feels fresh with growth. Spring Renewal mirrors this vitality and new beginnings: hints of cypress, pine, and notes of eucalyptus in the air after some rain, delicate jasmine blooms over my garden archway, and a subtle hint of lavender create a fresh, uplifting scent. It’s the smell of warm breezes, and the sense that anything is possible.

Summer Bloom – Rose Geranium, Bergamot & Lavender

Summer is when the farm comes alive. Lavender fields reach peak bloom, sun-soaked afternoons, and inviting long walks among the rows at sunset, soaking in colour, light, and fragrance. Summer Bloom captures that vibrancy: lush rose geranium, citrus scents in cold lemonades (beautifully grown on our neighbour farm), and gentle lavender create a joyful, radiant scent. Think long golden evenings, laughter in the sun, and the sticky, happy feeling of long summer days well spent.

The name Sticky Scents is intentional. Our farm has a habit of being a little sticky — guests often stay longer than planned, return again, or take a piece of the experience home with them. The fragrances in this collection are designed with that same idea in mind. Paired with reed sticks that steadily release scent, they’re made to linger in your space and in your memory.

Together, the four scents form a year on the farm — one season flowing into the next, each with its own character, but connected by place, rhythm, and lavender.
